Hello Carla, could you tell us a bit about yourself?
Hi! I’m originally from Italy and I have been a photographer for a decade now. Prior to that, I worked as a stylist, deeply immersed in the world of fashion and haute couture. My upbringing was split between the vibrant city life of Paris for my studies and the shores of the south of France where I spent my formative years. You will often find traces of these influences in my work: a harmonious blend of Italian Dolce Vita charm, the refined elegance of the French Riviera, and the timeless sophistication of Parisian style.
What is your role at Picture Society?
I am the co-founder of the agency and a photographer. However, my responsibilities extend beyond that, as I also shape the tone, mood, and artistic direction of each wedding’s imagery based on its unique needs and requirements.
Can you tell us how weddings usually unfold with you around?
Establishing a connection with the couple beforehand is extremely important for me. I believe in creating a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, so I take the time to get to know them. Building this rapport ensures that they feel at ease on their special day.
I encourage them to embrace their emotions, as it adds authenticity to the photos. If they’re unsure about posing or feeling nervous, I offer gentle guidance to help them feel confident and natural.

So, rest assured, you will look stunning!
During the event, I am fully committed to capturing every moment. I immerse myself in the present moment alongside the bride and groom and their guests, ensuring I’m present for every special moment and ready to seize the perfect shot at just the right time.
What do you think about throughout the wedding?
I’m always envisioning various poses, scenes, and compositions based on the place and the people attending the weddings, drawing inspiration from everything that surrounds me. This proactive approach helps me anticipate and capture moments as they unfold. I aim to infuse each photograph with a cinematic flair while ensuring a cohesive visual narrative across all the shots.
How do you shoot couple photos? Do you take the lead in directing them?
It is usually a joint effort. Couples often share their preferred mood, theme, and wedding venue with me. Through mood boards, research, and consideration of the chosen location, I then create style and poses that resonate with their vision while reflecting their individuality.
What’s your favourite part of a wedding?
I would have to say it is the pre-wedding shoot and capturing the moments between the couples. It’s during these sessions that I can truly unleash my creativity. From scouting unique locations to curating the perfect settings, it’s a thrilling process. These moments are incredibly special and intense, allowing me to infuse each shot with my passion for fashion.
